I understand that there are people whom Jesus wants to bring into HIS fold. They have a vision from HIM, they talk to HIM and HE answers their questions. There are testimonies of these people. Other than this, I do not have any doubt or any suspecion, but I am curious to know when people say that Jesus has told them to do this or do that, at that time do they hear a voice like a person talks to another person or it is that 'tiny sound' we always hear when we are about to step on a wrong path.
Feel free to share your experiences if you, your relatives or friends have any.

It is more like a thought sort of. It isn't usually like an audible voice.
It is sort of like the same thing when you sense something is going to happen before it happens.
It can even be hard to distinguish.
Like a lot of times you will be like is this something I am thinking or is this God telling me.
Like yesterday I put my cell phone in my pants pocket. Then I was getting back in my truck to leave the park. Before I got out of the truck something told me I was going to be saying to my kids Now I have to buy a 20 dollar phone. There I was getting back in the truck saying to my kids Now I have to buy a 20 dollar phone because my phone fell out of my pocket somewhere. I didn't 'listen' when I should have.
Last week I gave this speaker at a convention a drawing I drew. The next day something told me not to leave the house and *something connected to the speaker, I thought the speaker ain't going to come knocking on my door. Then a bunch of teens for the convention came walking up the street passing out food.
Its sort of like an intuition only a bit different.
Sometimes I will be feeling Don't go there and I use to agrue with this is most likely just some silly thought and not listen. Now I know and it is still a bit hard to distinguish but I am learning.
I like this Old Testament verse.
1 Kings 19
Then He said, "Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord." And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.
We look for the fire and the thunder to hear Gods voice when it was there all along as a still small whisper.

How do you know it is from god if it is just a feeling?

Because after a while you learn to distinguish.
You can also pray for God to give you discernment. Sort of like an intuition but you can tell it is more.

Learn to distinguish a feeling from something else? Hum.
I'm sure you can tell from my signature line how I feel about that.

I just explained it on another reply.
You have your head knowledge that you are always thinking what do I want
Then you have your heart knowledge where your emptions get in the way of what you want.
Tnen you have your gut instinct.
The gut instinct is more God guiding you.
Most people are caught up in their thoughts and feelings and don't listen to their gut instinct. It is sort of liike your intuition only when you learn to listen to it it can be developed into much more (higher) than simply intuition.

Triund,
I do believe that God does talk to us. I also believe that our guardian angel can and has done so.
But I THINK that such is different with different people.
I think that because of conversations with others telling me how the hear of feel thos voices.
In my case I sometime hear a very small whisper at times and at others it is a feeling such as a somewhat like sudden emotion that I should or should not do something.
This comes to me, I believe because I often pray for inspiration and guidance.
AND I am SURE that my payers on that have often been answered.
Peace and kindness,
Fred
