I am currently married with three young children. For the last few years my unemployed controlling husband has been trying to prevent my escape from our home. He has tried almost everything to make life hard to gain employment and access to any money. I managed to gain employment and to get my own vehicle, which irritated him to know end. I began a savings that would allow me freedom in approximately a year (money for rent, deposit and utilities in new home). He recently devulged to me that there was a foreclosure sale date on our home and that I would not be welcomed to live with him in his new home with the children. My husband only receives money from his parents in order to live. Is this by any way considered spousal abandonment? I know that this became a way my husband could gain control of the children. Could I receive some sort of assistance from social services to help me find a house so that I could keep my children with me?
