About one year ago, I replaced my shower head and bath tub faucet. Prior to that, the pressure was good. After those installs I noticed that my pressure went down. The presuure continued to go down until recently when I flush my toilet, it takes three times for my pump to come on and fill it up. Before that it took one time. What could be my problem? Could it be (1) too much air in line? To correct that do I just open the relief valve until water comes out and then close it? (2) a malfunctioning valve regulator? or (3) could it be my pump? Please let me know. Thanks.

What's the setting on the control box? When your pump pumps up to pressure and shuts off what does the pressure gage read?

(1) too much air in line? To correct that do I just open the relief valve until water comes out and then close it? If you had too much air in the line all you would have to do is open a faucet and bleed it off. WHAT RELIEF VALVE? If you mean the relief valve on the pressure tank or the snifter valve on the bladder tank, (by the way. What tank DO you have?) you have defeated the purpose of the tank and it must be recharged.

2) a malfunctioning valve regulator Do you mean control box?

(3) could it be my pump?
Please answer my questions and we'll go from there. Regards, tom

The pressure gauge had no numbers on it. See below. Isn't there a regulator of some kind in here? I really don't think it's my pump. Yesterday, I replaced a gauge that was leaking. It was on the bottom and attached to expander tank (I guess that's the name). Anyway, after I replaced the pressure was good. The gauge I took out had no numbers on. The one I put was for 100 PSI. When fully pressurized it pegs the meter. I don't think this is right. Any suggestions?
