Recently I added a hard drive and moved some of my important Documents contents to it. I checked carefully, and all was there - NOT shortcuts, but the whole files.

Then I deleted the files from my C drive and emptied my recycle bin... THEN, most of them were gone from the new drive as well.

I am desperate... can anyone tell me the procedure to recover these files?
And what would have gone wrong when I moved my file from one drive to other.

Sorry to hear about your file troubles. I'm not really sure exactly what went wrong, but if they did in fact complete transferring, and the space has not been formatted or overwritten with other data, they should be easily recoverable. There are programs to undelete your recently deleted items. Others on this site know more than I do about that but the best advice I can give you now is don't use the computer as you risk overwriting the areas on the hard drive where your files exist. When you delete files it only deletes the entry in the index of the hard drive.
