If you rent - call the landlord before renting a power auger. Yes, you can rent one.
Then - if you do rent one - make it pay and run a line down the back of your sink drain too.
If I go out with one - I make it useful and do the obvious problem drains - clogged or not.
Why - because there could be a soft clog and this will take care of that. Hair, bobby pins after the trap is cleared they all have to go somewhere.

In the future, please start your own post, you will get more help this way.
Now, if only the garbage disposal side is plugged, run water in that side till you have a couple inches of standing water, turn on disposal and use a plunger on it while it is running.

If all the other solutions fail then remove the "J" band from the trap and send your snake up into the wall, (see image) You will run into a bend about 8 inches in but once past that you'll only have to put out 6 more feet of snake. Flush with a tub of hot water. Goood luck, Tom

Hi all:
If this is a double sink as suggested and there are two traps then it could be that you need to snake the drain as mentioned above.
Otherwise, if two sinks and only one ptrap under the sink then you will need to reach into the disposer with a stick and see if you can dislodge anything clogging the disposal from INSIDE the disposal. If that fails to unclog the drain you may need to loosen the elbow connected to the disposal and begin to clear the pipe from there to the single PTRAP.
Try a plunger as mentioned by MGD first...see if that helps here... ;)
Let us know how you make out... O.K.?
