Kay so my cat is really weird, she poops in the tub. I clean her litter box nearly every day. Is she mentally retarded or just a jerk? How can I get her to stop?

What would she do if you kept the bathroom door shut?

Put a litter box in the tub maybe?

Just to coax her into using it and then move it out of the bath onto the floor.

I agree with shaz.
Put the litter box in the bathtub and let your cat go.

Litter box training takes some cats longer then other cats.

You'll just have to give your cat some time to understand.
It's like potty training a baby, it takes time.

Good Luck!:)

Fill it up with just enough water to cover the bottom of the tub. If she DOES get in the tub she won't stay there for long. She might check after that, but leave the water in it until her behavior has changed and hopefully she'll start avoiding the tub all together. I just got a new kitten that has the same habit and my mom had the water in the tub idea... so far it's working. It's been 4 days and she hasn't done it again so far. Good luck! I know how frusterating it is!

I agree with closing the door. No way to get in to the tub if the door is shut.

Why would you think your cat is just a jerk? Cats aren't humans. I don't believe a cat can be consciously mean.

Yes, if a cat is upset, or left no other option, they may do something strange. My cat used to pee in my dirty landry basket, but that was because I didn't clean his littler box (I was 16 and 'too busy'. Young and stupid) but he didn't do it just to be a jerk to me.

Is it possible your cat does not like the litter you use? Try using another. I had a cat once, who was allergic to the arm and hammer litter. He was getting red rashes on his pads and started going on the floor because he didn't want to go in the box.

I would close the bathroom door to disallow her the tub option. And change the littler and see what happens.

My cat did that afte I switched to a different litter. I learned my lesson. Cats don't like change.

THANKS! I like that idea a lot. I would shut the door but I live in an apartment and the bathroom is the only place I can put the litter box. Water is a great idea! :)
