I have a second floor fiberglass shower pan that has a leak that's been staining my ceiling below. I'm pretty sure the leak is coming from drain adapter. The water stain is directly below the drain adapter. The drain fitting is a B&K 133-301 drain. I'm pretty sure the leak is coming from the location where the adapter flange should be caulked between the shower pan and the underside of the flange. I poured a ring of water around this area and it slowly leaks by it. I'm thinking that this shouldn't drain by.
Does anyone know if its possible to unscrew this flange slightly and raise it up and re silicone then re-tighten without getting to the bottom of the pan? I know there is a nut on the underside, my hope is that that stays with the drain and I get lucky?
I know its stretch but I thought I'd ask. Has anyone had luck with an external bead of silicone around this drain adapter to stop a slow leak?
Trying to fix without tearing apart the ceiling.
Thanks
Ray
