Had my first date. Had fun this guy chit chatting for a good 3 hours while having lunch yesterday. Texted him how he was doing and hope he is enjoying his rotation (work). Texted back. "Thanks for everything. Back to work for me. Have a good one." What does that mean?

Just accept the response as it is. Don't need to read more into it.
If he wants to see you again, he will contact you.
If you want to see him again, you can try to contact him too.
It's an equal playing field.

He could be busy and not be able to have a full blown conversation. See if he calls you/txt you after work, or later on. Guys really aren't as complicated as girls make us out to be. It's simple..
If we like you, we WILL make the effort- most likely a few times- to try to see/ hang out with you. Unless the guy has multiple girls lined up then he will make a priority list and give the most time to that girl first and kind of leaving you hanging.
Bottom line is, don't look too much into it... relax, breathe. In the end you want a guy that wants you right? So let him show you that, if he doesn't put out the effort the way you want to- NEXT.

Could very well be that he was having lunch too, and had to go back to work. I wouldn't read too far into it. It'll get you into trouble.

Every man should call or contact you after the first date just to say thanks or something. I hope he was just busy, but if he doesn't seem to be into you, he probably isn't.
