View Full Version : How to remove broken hose threads

Hi there,
I hope this is the right thread to ask this question.
I had two garden hoses connnected, and due to our acidic water, the inner threads at that connection have corroded and broken off. Now the 2 hoses are not connected and worse, the threads from one hose are stuck inside the other hose. I'd like to remove them, but how? Tried with my leatherman, couldn't get a grip. A solvent?
I'd rather remove them than replace the connectors, which I know I could do with parts from the hardware store.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,
Well you are going to replace one nonetheless, and it may be quicker to do both. Faced with this situation, I would take a 16p nail or such and carefully drive it between the two threaded pieces to collapse tne inner one so that I could then remove it.
Peace,
Clarke

You might want to cut the ends off and get a quick disconnect fitting for each end.
