I have a Kenmore refrigator. My ice maker doesn't work consistently. If you bang the side of it, the ice maker will produce 1 to 2 trays and then stop. What part do I need to replace?

It is usually just cheaper to replace the ice maker. BUT before you do make sure the connector for the electric inside the freezer for the ice make is making good contact. By hitting it you might be causing a temporary contact.
