so replumbing in pex and need help with connecting to fixtures. I need to go straight through the floor to replace existing pipes so my question is how to do this. Home is on post and pier so big crawl space to work in. should I just use a drop ear and secure it to an added 2x4 in between the joists( I guess I would attach the drop ear first since it would be hard to get it on after the support was in place) and then use a brass nipple to go through the floor and take it from there or just do a straight cooper stub out or is there a better way?
thanks for your help!!

Search for posts by "Stubits" and PEX. He's re-piping an addition and there is lots of info there.

Just discussed is a copper "L" shaped thing just for stub-outs. Then they do the compression shut off and their done. Not the prettiest system.

I like the drop ear and chrome plated pipe with shutoff. You can replace all the parts including the estucheon. But, that's just me.
