While ten cups of coffee daily is a good indicator of an addiction, I have seen people wean themselves off other addictions using that much coffee for a period. An easy way to reduce is to opt for the "half the caffeine" products. If that isn't available on your grocer's shelves, you can make your own by purchasing a jar of each - regular and decaf - and mixing them together. This way if ten cups is still consumed, it would only be the equivalent of five cups caffeine-wise. Stopping completely will most likely produce a terrific headache, but that only lasts a few days according to the people I have heard from who cold-turkey quit.
Here is one of a number of sites I found searching the web that outlines the effects of excessive coffee consumption:

I recently purchased decaffeinated coffee and my husband stated he is enjoying coffee a lot more... he is jerky in the morning after drinking too much coffee... my experiment worked... he is less jerky in the morning...

Drinking too much coffee increases alertness but it can also produce or increase anxiety as a side effect and a feeling of being on edge.
Coffee is also a diueretic and so causes you to lose more water from the body which is why you go to the toilet more often. You are not just getting rid of the water you have drank in the coffee but getting rid of more. A bit like alcohol, ever noticed, you drink 1 pint but seem to lose much more when you use the toilet.
10 cups of coffee a day won't kill you in the short term, but long term, it is certainly not good for you.
My advice is cut down or try decaffeinated alternatives.
I think part of drinking coffee all day is mostly boredom. And if you are in the office, most likely an excuse to get away from your desk for a few minutes.

If drinking coffee is an addicion you have to treat it as any other addiction.
Caffeine increase blood sugar levels giving you a high. Thus coffee addiction could be sign of hypoglycemia.

Coffee favorite for today is Whole Bean Millstone's carmel and truffles... good for evening with non dairy creamer... I put Irish crème and two teaspoon of sugar... in this coffee one night.. oh so gooooodd... and this is want I would do if I had 10cups of coffee and I would leave the standard out...
