I don't know if this is the right category, but here goes. (first time user)

I just bought a pair of shoes that are a wee bit to big and flop off my foot the odd time when I walk - they where on clearance cannot return them.

Any homemade remedies would be greatly welcome, thanks.:)

That might work as long as you can conceal them good enough

Actually they make a heel insert, you can find them at Target or a local shoe store. If that doesn't seem quite right there are sole inserts as well. They are pretty neat too, no more chaffing on the heel!

Too big shoes are always noticeable. One always walks funny just to make sure they stay on. ALWAYS try on shoes before leaving the store!! Maybe give them to a friend with larger feet? Or sell them on eBay.
