I have a 1994 Murray riding mower, model 287707. The other day I hit a rock while mowing and the mower died. When I try to start it, I hear a "click" or "snap" from somewhere underneath the seat. As best as I can tell everything is connected, the belt is in proper position, and the battery is new. Is this an electricial problem (perhaps similar to a car when the solenoid "clicks" but the starter is bad)? Also I tried to jump start my mower before I installed a new battery but no success. Could I have damaged any of
The gears. Hopefully this not an expensive repair, because I don't want to spend much
More money to fix it. When it runs it is a good machine.

Hi,
Could be a bad solenoid or bad connection. Either could cause a click
Peace,
