Hello

Can anyone help me to answer this question.. My partenr is currently serving a 4 year sentence of which he will be serving half he has been told by an inmate that if you accept different terms of probation and tag i.e. shorter curfew times and going to probation every day it is possible to get out a little earlier. I am very new to all this and really do not know how the system works. Can anyone help with the facts please.

Thank you
Stacey

Hello S:

I'd worry about getting him out of the slam before I worried about how to get him off probation.

He as a case worker inside who will tell him Everything he ever wanted to know about parole, probation and good time.

Speaking of good time, you say he'll get 1 day for every day served?? I don't believe it.

Usually the only way you can earn "good time" is to work in the jail at some sort of job. You don't just earn good time for sitting on your keester all day.

Don't know where he's doing his time, but as Exie said he needs to review his original sentencing paperwork and see what sort of jail time and probation he was originally sentenced to. As far as I know you just can't "rewrite" the Judge's originally sentencing orders.
