To make runs

The aim of the batsman at the strikers end is to hit the ball and not get bowled, in order to get runs, either by getting a boundary or by running between wickets.

Should actually say "not get dismissed" as there are more ways of getting out than bowled , ie: caught , LBW , hit wicket etc.

Haha... sorry M... I admit I'm not as smart as you... Lol!

There is also getting run out... which is even worse if you get run out at the non-striker's end... ;)
