I am a syed girl. My parents want me to marry a syed boy.I am in love with a boy whose mother is syed but not his father.does that make him a syed because the holy prophet had no son and the syed dynasty started with a woman.it started with a woman.on the basis of this can we come to the conclusion that the kids are syed even if one of the parents are syed? Please englighten me on this and give me a positive feedback and reply as soon as possible.

Where can I contact them?

I've asked that it be moved - it's another thread. Someone very familiar with the Muslim religion can most probably answer this immediately.
I just don't know if those of us on the marriage board can.
By moving your question you should get a fast, accurate response.

A moderator should come along soon - if you don't want to wait, just go to the Muslim thread and post it again and this thread (that we're on) will be taken off when a Moderator realizes it's been posted twice.

We are all volunteers here. Some of "us" are on line more than other people.
I don't know how many people are familiar with the Muslim religion so it might take some time for you to get an answer. Some questions are never answered at all.

Salaams Zara,
I am not sure what you mean by "Syed" and I could not find any information on "Syed" being a sect or part of muslims or Islam.
Unless you mean that as a family name ?or is that a branch of Shia?
In Islam, it is recommended to marry a practicing muslim, no matter which tribe or nation they belong to.Muslims marry Muslims without considering their family lineage and more focused on their practices as a muslim.Whether they are good practicing muslims, following the Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet(Peace be upon him).
Maybe you are referring to a Shia practice, which I am not very familiar with.
Wa alaikum salaam
