Over the past couple of months, we have lost our hot water pressure. Cold is fine, but the hot is weak---it is a nuisance for showering but also we can't load the top rack of our dishwasher because the dishes do not get clean. Is this a hot water tank issue??

Hi all:

Growler's on the right track, but you would want to check both the HOT water and the COLD water nipples to the water heater as both are most likely clogged in a similar manner... see image.

You may also want to check the cold water shutoff going into the water heater... may be choked down from sediment/debris getting caught at the washer. Here, you can try to shut the shutoff, and then reopen it to see if that helped dislodge anything.

Otherwise, I'd check the nipples next and see what you come up with. If necessary... replace nipples.
