I live in Arizona. Its 110 degrees on a daily basis if not more this time of year. So my AC is pretty important to me. And its not working. And the matenence of my apartment says its not considered an 'emergency' so they don't have to come out and fix it till tomorrow (its night time right now)

So I was wondering if there was something I could do for it.

We noticed it wasn't getting very cool in the house when I turned it down to 70. Its set to 70, and cold air is coming out, but its only getting down to about 75 (from 80 during the day)

Then I noticed its leaking. Inside my apartment, from where the air filters go. It's a big square vent panel on the ceiling.

The leaking is coming from a large silver box sitting next to the motor looking thing (I think it's a motor of some kind)

Any thoughts?

Sounds like the drain is plugged up. It would be smart to allow them to fix it because if you try to fix it water damage may happen then they will want you to pat for the damage.

Turn unit off, but turn the fan on from auto on tstat. Unit could be frozen. This will allow it to defrost so they can work on it.
Also make sure you change the filters regularly. I used to live and work in scottsdale and I can't tell you how many service calls I ran and all they needed was to change the filter. Expensive lesson to be learned.
