Is this supposed to be an equation?

\frac 1y -4= 0\,??

if so, add 4 to both sides

\frac 1y = 4

multiply both sides by y and divide both sides by 4

\frac 14 = y

Or perhaps

\frac{1}{y-4} = 0

Then,

y-4=0

and

y=4

EDIT : this is to find the asymptote of the graph

Or perhaps

\frac{1}{y-4} = 0

Then,

y-4=0

and

y=4

Be careful, Unknown. No division by 0. This has no solutions.

Oh, silly me... y=4 refers to the asymptote of the graph

It doesn't matter anyway because I doubt if the poster comes back.
