I have a single knob Moen shower faucet. It seems to installed in the correct manner, cold on the right side, hot on the left. When I turn it on hot water comes on first when turned to the cold water side. Does this mean I will need a professional to correct this or is there a simple solution to the problem?

Is this a new instalation or has it always been this way. You can rotate a Moen cartrdige to cause it to be reversed. Do you have a model, or I can give you generic info and tutorials. Installation Help / Animated Tutorial - Installing the Moen 1225 / 1200 Cartridge (http://www.moen.com/consumersupport/installation/moen0133/moen0133.cfm) Follow the step as though you were replacing an old cartridge but don't remove it just rotate it 180 degrees, reassemble and you should be good to go.

Simple repair! Remove the knob and rotate the stem of the cartridge 180 degrees. Reinstall the knob and the problem's solved. Cheers, tom
