My period is 3 1/2 weeks late. I had frequent headaches for about a week, and I was constipated for about a week as well (just last week). I have been very moody lately, and I noticed that I am very bloated. I have gained about 5 pounds in the last couple of weeks. My husband made a comment about my breasts looking bigger, and I noticed that they are slightly more full-feeling and heavier, though there is no soreness. I have wanted to eat a lot of sweets, and after eating certain full meals, I have had a bit of a sour stomach, though there has been no vomiting. I took a pregnancy test a week ago, and there was a faint negative line. Do you think that it would be a good idea to take another test, or should I wait a while and see if my period is just being stubborn? Do you think that it is a good possibility that I could be pregnant? I have missed periods in the past, but it was when I was under a lot of stress, which there is not much going on now to stress me badly... I don't know what step to take next, or if I should even worry about taking a next step.

Thanks

If the HCG hormone is there then you are pregnant! All tests will detect it. It there or its not. I would go to the OBGYN for a blood test. That's the best thing to do for peace of mind

Many times P.M.S. symptoms can mimic the symptoms of pregnancy.
Stress is just one of many things that can throw off your cycle.Even coming down with a cold can throw you off.

I would wait one more week and take another pregnancy test with first morning urine. If that is still negative ,I would make a doctors appointment.Depending on your age ,you could be experiencing some premenopausal symptoms. With some women these can begin as early as their mid thirties. Some common symptoms are:

• Unexplained weight gain • Headaches • Mood swings • Lower sex drive • Depression • Irritability • Inability to handle stress • Fibrocystic breasts • Uterine fibroids • Endometriosis • Low metabolism • Instable blood sugar • Water retention • Hot flashes • Vaginal dryness • Irregular periods • Pain in the joints or stiffness

I do not think your symptoms are typical of early pregnancy, aside from the enlarged breasts which is usually accompanied by tenderness.
