Hey just curious about movie storage. Generally how much memory does an hr of video take up, and how many hours or how much time does one gig give me. Thanks in advance.

Hmmmmm a difficult question to give a definite answer to.
It really all boils down to quality and bitrate (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitrate).
The lower the bitrate the lower the quality.
If is very possible to get a two hour movie as a 250 Mb file where as full DVD quality can be as larger as 4 Gb + and HD is even more.
