We are trying to wire the remote control unit that came with our ceiling fan, but we aren't wiring it correctly. We can get the ceiling fan and the lights working by wiring it directly and bypassing the remote control unit and using the pull cords. Does anyone know how the wiring works on this fan to get the remote wired correctly?

From the ceiling we have green, white, & yellow wires.
From the fan there are white, blue, black, green.
Remote unit has red & white wires from input side, and blue, black, & white from output side.

When we tried to connect the remote control unit to the fan we connected the remote input wires white to ceiling white, and remote red to ceiling yellow.

The green ceiling wire was connected to the green fan wire.

Then the remote output wires we connected blue to the fan's blue, black to the fan's black, and white to the fan's white.

The fan & light didn't work.

Please help.

"ceiling we have green, white, & yellow wires" normally you would have white/neutral; green/ground and black/hot. Test the yellow wire , its likely your hot but lets check. :fan's blue, black to the fan's black" the blue goes to the hot side of the light fixture. I think if "Remote unit has red & white wires " your white goes to white and the yellow goes to red but confirm that yellow.

What country are you in?

What was connected before the fan and how?

The way you wired it would be how I would guess it would be wired. But yellow is not a normal color in the US.
