This is an older fict. Movie reference an abducted NYC son of a single mom about 9 to 12 yrs old. Police think that she is off the wall except for one detective who finally finds some credibility to the mom's statements. One weekend the detective goes with his 9 to 12 yr old son on a lead in CT. concerning lead that call the single mom saying that she thinks the missing boy is in the back yard of the adjoining house always playng alone.
After seeing a little boy that appears to look like the missing youngster the NYC detective summons the CT police to assist with a search. It turns out that it was the missing boy who was taken to keep an older family member company. CT police escorts from many cities escorted the NYC detective, sirens blaring all the way into NYC unbeknownst to the mom who was just returning from the grocery store. When she walked around the corner to her apartment she was met with many police cars. She was startled and stunned. The passenger door opened and the detective's son stepped out followed by her son.
