We're rebuilding a bathroom in which the dwv came up through an interior wall and stopped. It's a log cabin w/o an attic and would rather not vent through the roof. Is there any other way to install a proper dwv?

It's a log cabin w/o an attic and would rather not vent through the roof. Is there any other way to install a proper dwv? It's best to vent through the roof. Having said that you could install a AAV (see image) on the vent. The downside to this is that you will have to install a panel in the wall so it can be serviced. So, whadda you going to do? Put a hole in your roof or a panel in your wall? Good luck, Tom

Definitely I will opt for the panel in the wall. Any other guidelines? Seems there's a lot of choices in types of AAVs out there. Any other maintenance besides keeping it clean? THANKS so much for helping out.

There are many AAV's out there. Don't pick the cheapest one. I perfer Studor Vents myself. There's no upkeep to this. It either works or you replace it. Good luck, Tom
