My mother and father in law quit claim my husband property in 2004 , but did not know it had to be notorized to be legal so they did it again in 2007. Our plan was to build on it we decided to sell it instead because they owed back taxes on it and we could not afford it. We sold it in 2008 and carried the mortgage for a few months then sold the note ( when we sold the property they had to sign another quit claim deed because it was missing one word) now my mother in law and father in law are divorced and my mother in law is saying that we owe her money and we coersed her into signing a quit claim deed we have 4 signed and notarized by her. She is saying now that because she had just finished chemo she is not responsible for what she signed . Is that true can she sue us!

Is that true can she sue us!!Hello carson:

She can sue (anybody can sue anybody for anything), but I don't think she can win. IF she actually files, though, you'll need a lawyer.
