I'm having some problems with my 5 year old dishwasher which just stopped working recently. All lights on panel work when selecting cycles but when you press start, nothing happens. I think the latch was broken coincidentally and I replaced it hoping it would resolve the problem but it didn't. I'm beginning to think that the control board needs to be replaced but would like someone else's opinion.
The odd thing is that you can run a test cycle on it by pressing the no heat dry button and start button at the same time and it runs for about 7 minutes. All pumps and motor appear to function. The replacement control board will cost me over $200 and I just would like to eliminate any other possibilties before purchasing the non-returnable part. Can anyone tell me if they feel this is the control board or the key pad? Given that the key pad lights up and that the test cycle functions, is it safe to assume that the key pad is OK?
I would really appreciate any input on this as I recently lost my job and cannot afford to make any costly mistakes.
