I have a 2 and a half month old daughter, and I was wondering if it is normal for the father to not want anything to really do with her cause she is so little?

Definitely normal. But if it goes on too long it can cause problems. Give him some time. It hasn't been that long.

Generally guys feel that infants are breakable. Then don't want to hurt the baby, drop the baby, get the baby dirty, get the baby sick.

Also, often men think diffrently than women do, women think 'i love my baby RIGHT NOW and I will do what the baby needs RIGHT NOW"

men on the other hand, think in terms of 'what if i do something now, that will scar them for the rest of thier life!"

It's a real fear, and its also a normal fear. Talk to him about his feelings. See if he can verbalize how he is feeling and possibly work through it with you.

Sometimes men DO need to either take a parenting class or see a psychologist to work through this type of problem. But give him more time.

Normal? Maybe. Acceptable? No.

This is his child, he helped create it, he can step up to the bat and help care for it.

What if you both felt this way?

Nope. Not okay.
