OK me and my husband want so badly to have a kid together. But its just not in the cards for us. I have children from a previous relationship but every time I've tried with my husband I've had miscarriages. I've had 2 miscarriages so far and I don't want to go thro that again. We talked the other day about adoption and it sounded like a good idea to both of us. What do you have to go through to adopt a child. How much does it cost and can you get newborns. I hear about it all the time but I never thought I would be looking into it. Can anyone please help me. Thanks:confused:

New borns are much harder to get than slightly older children. Costs can vary, between private and adoptions though state agencies.
I would though out 10,000 as a average sum

If you're looking for an infant in the US, you're looking at between $10k and $20k, depending on how much assistance the birth parents need with medical expenses.

Really, you should talk to an agency in your area. You will probably need to have a home study done, you'll need to get counseling about adoption, and you'll need to learn more about adoption in general in order to make informed choices regarding your adoption plan.

Lutheran Social Services and Catholic Charities are two great places to start to get information.

You can also look online at adoption.com and adoption.org, two websites that I've found to be very informative about ALL sides of the adoption triad.
