I received a arbitration summons and the lawyer that sent it posted repeatlly they tried to connect me to resolve this.
They never contacted me once. I never even new I was being sued. Plus the summons has no questions for me to respond to. I thought they where suppose to give 30 days to contact and work it out and such?
When I respond to this at the court. Is that where I would ask them for a discovery or do I do that seperatly in a letter to them? Seems like they are trying to do a fast scam here? Thank You..

Is it a legitimate debt?

Yes it is.. Thanks
If you know it is a legitimate debt, then you must have known that you owed it before receiving the summons. That would have been your chance to contact them and work it out.
You owe the money, you didn't pay, they sue you for the money. Every time they sent you a letter telling you that you were late and that you needed to pay, that was their attempt. That's why they always add that line at the bottom "This is an attempt to collect a debt and that any information obtained will be used for that purpose." (or something like that)
Anyway, time is up. If you have some money now, you can try to contact them and settle it before the court date... but you better be prepared to make them an offer they can't refuse.

Yes I wasn't questioning that I owed the dept. I was question the lawyer firm in not notifieng me of the law suit. As of just last week I received a letter from the credit card company that they where turning it over to a collection agency. So this lawyer firm had already sent the summons out before the credit card company sent me a letter. Plus this is not the collection agency that the credit card company said they where turning it over to. So my question was and still is.. Is this agency for real or them I being scammed in some way.
Plus them saying they tried many times to collect the debt from me. Which they never did, not once. I missed two payment of this credit card and they dumped me! Thanks

Whether there was improper service or not is a moot point. You can go back to the court and tell them you never received notice and ask that the hearing be postponed to give you more time.
But if you fight the service they will just reserve after the hearing.
