Ok,

So for those who don't know, me and my girlfriend may be pregnant. Im 23 and she's 20, and while a bit surprised, and obviously initially afraid when the condom broke, were prepared mentally and emotionally to deal with and take care of everything and be parents come it to that. Our families are behind us so its OK.

Next question,

She used to be on Dianne-35, and she went off back in August. Now, I've been told that some birth control pills can take a while, sometimes as long as a year to work themselves out of a woman's system, depending on which type of pill. Im no expert in this at all and wanted to know if,

A. Is that true?

And B. If that's true, can that really have any effect on the outcome of this.

Thank you so much for your help J. Made us both feel better, and knowing what you told us kind of gave us the courage to tell her parents, and let me live to tell about it afterwards.

Gunslinger,

Yes it can be true. But it is different for every person. The worst one is the Depo Provera shot. That is the one that causes the most difficulty.

"If that is ture, can that have any effect on the outcome of this?" That is hard to tell, and truly only your doctor can answer this to the degree that you want. Hormone levels are different for every woman. While there is a range, there is a low side, middle, and high, but this range varies for every woman. So, without doing a history and physical on your girlfriend, I cannot answer this with any degree of certainty.

I am very happy things went well for you both. I am happy you are alive to let me know how things went. Please keep me posted.
