In Florida how many days/months of no contact with my child would be considered abandoment? I am in the middle of a divorce and my ex is pulling all kids of stunts, he pays child supporst when he feels like and now he has the kids and will not let me contact them, the police won't do anything because of the situation, can you please let me know if there is anything I can do so I do not lose my kids.
Thank you

If you are the child's custodial parent, and he is not letting you see the child, then you should contact child services.

I'm curious to know why the police won't do anything, as since he is paying child support its obvious the children are SUPPOSED to be with you.

How did he get the kids? Have you contacted your lawyer?

It's not abandonment if you keep trying to contact them. Keep records of any attempts to communicate with them or see them. If you're trying to call them, keep the phone records.

Were there temporary orders when you filed for your divorce ? Did they include custody awards on a temporary basis ?

Were there any restraining orders issued ?
