View Full Version : A/ central unit does not stop running

My air condition central unit continue to run with out stopping and does not cut off for 19 hrs or longer. Thermostat change last yr. Techinican came and stated pan where water flows is full. Empty out pan a/c still does not stop running Cool air freon full no mechanical problems with unit outside but still have the same problem. I have a ritetemp thermaostat Do I need another brand or do you know what the problem maybe

Please be patient. We are ordinary people living ordinary lives who volunteer our time here. When the experts who can answer your question come on line I'm sure they would be more than happy to help you.

Obviously you have a problem with the system. I would maybe have another company come out and look at it. There could be lots of things wrong. For instance freon to low or to high, mechanical switch problems, dirty indoor and/or outdoor coils, open ductwork, dirty filters, and so on.
We would need more specifics on system and problems to be able to help. Take a good look at system and note anything different, sounds, condition, temps, anything that could help us help you.

Its possible that the air conditioned air is escaping your home as well. If you have bad windows or door seals, the air could be escaping, and there for, the inside temp never reaches the desired temp, so the unit stays on, attempting to reach this temp.
