If you have not formally bought the house (title search, closing, etc.) and signed the deed, you do not own the house. Go to the public property records at the country courthouse to check on the status of the house.

I said, to find out if the house is in foreclosure, you have to locate the public record about that house. Usually the records are in the county courthouse.
Your paying the bills does NOT make you the owner of the house. If you have not formally bought the house (title search, closing, etc.) and signed the deed, you do not own the house.
Please consult with a lawyer who deals with buying and selling homes to find out how you can buy this house. Along the way, your grandmother will have to sign something official and legal.
