My OPT is valid till June 13,2006 and H1 has started Oct 1 2006.My employer is not taking out SSN and Medicare out of my check.Would I be liable for it at the end of year.

What if I inform my employer and they still do not take it out,Would I still have to payit at the end of year.

You become liable for Medicare and Social Security taxes the day your H-1 visa becomes effective.

Your responsibility is to make sure your employer knows when the H-1 visa becomes effective. Collecting the taxes is the employer's responsibility. If the employer fails to collect those taxes, the IRS will NOT come to you for them. They hold the employer solely responsible.
