I just want to know how to calculate the total head for a building if we want to select the fire pump and discharge required for it

This will depend on the standards followed, whether nfpa or bs or indian or... Generally head calculation will involve the friction loss in piping + minimum required head at the hydrant / sprnkler as suggested by standards.

Hai,
For fire fighting system consisting of stand pipe systems, NFPA-14 std is applicable. Required end pressure is almost 5-6bar. U can use darcy weisch back's eqn for calculating the pressure loss.this formula is accurate in all cases. For average sized buildings, 10-11bar pump will be sufficient..

I have parking 2 basement and 6 floor the fire tank in basement 1 and the are of each floor 6800m2 the height of each floor 3.4 I need the pump flow and head.
