My toshiba p205-s6337 lcd screen is blank. New screen and inverter installed,but still blank. Laptop works fine with external monitor. Strange thing though, laptop screen does show images when external monitor is used,but image is fuzzy and grainy. What's wrong?

These possibilities come to mind:

1. Backlight burned out?
2. Internal video controller (on motherboard) failed?

What os.

Check display properties and then settings tab and you should have image of 2 screens there - play and adjust settings options there to see if that could help

I have the same problem. I'm wondering if I can remove my laptop screen and still use everything else. I'm also hooked up to another monitor

Would maybe suggest to connect an external USB keyboard and mouse and then set your power options not to turn off laptop when lid closed and close lid of laptop and use the external keyboard/mouse with the external monitor you have

What video card are you using? Have you recently updated drivers? Try going into the video card display properties and taking it off "clone" which clones your main display.
