Besides therapy, which I am in, I am scared and anxious of everything and yet its realistic stuff like making sure things go well at special events like Christmas or when my sister got married 2 years ago. It is not the classic hand washing or checking that I had as a little kid when diagnosed with OCD. Could my doctor be right that while I have some OCD its promarily Generalized Anxiety. I am scared 24/7, but the fears are very realistic just greatly exaggerated. The OCD thoughts happen maybe twice a day and only briefly. So while I don't deny that I have OCD, the main question is, could someone have OCD but also have major anxiety that's mostly about realistic stuff and generalized anxiety.

From what I know, it is not unusual to have secondary diagnosis with any mental illness. The primary diagnosis is only a starting point. Not everybody, actually most people, fit into a little slot with a single problem.

Who is to say that the OCD, now treated, and under control for the most part as you said, has not allowed for you to see other problems that also need to be addressed. It is a learning curve.

As you have more and more control over your thoughts and actions, and there is more balance than you have had, you may be recognizing things that were always there, just not up front and obvious.

Try not to be overly concerned with the diagnosis. It is the symptoms of mental illness, and particularly those symptoms of mental illness that prevent you from enjoying everyday normal activities without obsessive thinking, that is important.

I admire you for getting help and I wish you well.
