No. Although your estate is, however, liable for your child support debt, the proceeds from a life insurance policy are not part of your estate and would pass on your death to your beneficiaries.

What?
If your wife is the beneficiary on your life insurance policy then she gets the money when you die and the child support people can't take it from her.

Why are you answering your own question?
If you knew the answer (you are wrong btw) why ask the question in the first place?

Some of this depends on the state... in My state... if your wife has the insurance policy on you and you die with her as the beneficiary then she will get the money it does not come out of her pocket. Her pay will never be garnished either it isn't her kid to support. Now, what is in your estate is different... your estate has to pay off any and all of your debts before anyone else (who you name in your will) can get something (if there is anything left).

Actually, no he doesn't, but who cares right, you got the answer you wanted.
Sadly it won't help you, seeing as he's wrong.

This has got to be one of the lamest and dumbest things I've witnessed here.
Willie, posts his question, then he comes back and answers it. Apparently not realizing that his name will be on the answer. Then he realizes (after my post) that he's been caught, but rather then quit while he's behind, he decides to create a new account to answer the question. Of course, the similarity is obvious and a check by the mods shows they are using the same PC.
What is really lame is what he hoped to accomplish here. I could possible understand it if he's trying to drum up business for a law practice. But the correct answer is very basic, so who would hire someone making such an obvious mistake?
Reminds me of the bank robber who handed the tell er a stickup note on the back of one of his preprinted deposit slips.
