I have the sweetest 75lb Pitbull. His name is Caesar. He is a very good dog except for 1 thing, he will not stay off the couch or beds when I leave the home and he's in it. I have done everything I can think off to stop this bad habit. Someone please help!

Does he know to stay off them when you are at home?
You could try laying something like tin foil down over the cushions so he does not jump up on them (most dogs hate the noise it makes)
Another alternative is to invest in a baby gate to block him out of your living room and away from the couches when you go out.
I confine mine to my kitchen/dining when I go out and out their doggy beds in there and some toys.

I have put up gates, I have screwed them to the wall, only to come home and he has broken them. He does not get on the furniture when I am home. He has a dog bed and seems happy with it. This is new behavior for him and it confuses and frustrates me.

Tricky situation...
Do you know of any particular noise or surface he does not like?
I have had success with the foil I mentioned above, but if you can find something else that he doesn't like putting it over the couch should deter him.
He may ven have some amount of separation anxiety, does he cry when you leave?
A lot of dogs ill become extremely stressed when their owner leaves but with some training it can be corrected.
What I do is to leave the house for only about 5 minutes and then come back in, act as if nothing has happened and you weren't gone.
Then the next time make it 10 minutes, then 20, and so on, eventually it teaches the dog that when ou leave the house you are going to come back and you aren't leaving them alone forever.

Thanks for your help! I forgot about the Kong and a treat, that's my next step.
Thanks again!
