Hi I just recently bought a pet store puppy. And I was needing advice on how to potty train him. He is a 4 month old Chi-weenie. I watch him sniff around and almost go, I grab him, run him outside walk around for 10 15 min. and he doesn't go. I take him back inside and within two minutes he goes on the floor, what should I do? Also I have a one and a half year old female chi-weenie. They do all right, but she's a little rough with him. How do I get her to like him if possible. Thank you.

I know I am going to get in trouble for saying this but I can tell you now that you paid too much for your cross-bred puppy mill dog.

Now I have that out of my system, with toilet training some breeds are actually harder than others. I know that Chihuahuas can be notoriously hard to potty train sometimes.

He seems to have trained himself to go inside, at pet stores they do not take their dogs outside to potty so they teach themselves to go in their cages or enclosures inside.

It will be hard to break this behaviour but not impossible, you are doing the right thing by rushing him outside when he looks like he is about to go. Have you considered trying puppy training pads?
He might be more inclined to go on those instead of outside to begin with.
Once he is confidently going on the pads you then move the pad towards your back door about half a meter a day until it is eventually on the grass.

With very difficult dogs you can put the pad outside and put a few handfuls of grass on it to try and teach them that grass is OK to wee on.

Next question...
A lot of older dogs will have trouble handling a new puppy at first, they do play pretty rough and those puppy teeth are sharp!
Just make sure you give your older dog a place where he can be on his own and get away from the puppy, whether that is a high chair the pup cannot get onto or just take him out on his own regularly so he has some one on one time with you.
