View Full Version : Can't get my laptop open

Rick is crying big time. Kids dropped the laptop; the pin that the power supply plugs into has broken off :(

Manual is no help with directions on opening it up - and I can't find anything Googling.

I've removed all screws on the underside of it and still can't get it open. Any ideas?

It's an Acer Aspire 3613 WLCi

Thanks!

Ouch.
Opening laptops can be a seriously annoying affair.
They have a tendency of hiding screws in a lot of weird places.
Makes sure you have removed all parts possible, like CD, battery.
Not only are they screwed together, but they also tend to be a very tight click fit as well.
A little brute force and a flat edge is sometimes called for.

Good luck ;)

Thanks Curly. Sniffle sniffle. I did find the service manual on eBay for $4.75... downloading it now - hoping it's got some tips or tricks.

The hammer and chisel is just not getting it.

I've now got the hard drive hooked up to my PC as a slave drive.

Can I run apps no problem? Is there any way to get to stuff I had on my desktop?

Thanks!

Aah cool... I found it tidy in a Rick's Documents > Desktop folder!
