This may sound like a silly question but I have a cat who's has bright yellow patches of fur on her stomach- I don't mean light orange I mean golden- I have never seen any cats with that fur colour before and when I researched it having colour seems to indicate some kind of disease- yet the cat appears to be perfectly healthy.

So, my question is- is that a normal colour, is she secretly suffering from some strange illness or is she some kind of rare breed?

What color is the rest of her? She could be a calico. My Aby was tan which looked more yellow than orange.

I guess you could call her a tabby- she's got black and white patterns over the rest of her- but still- I've never seen a calico with golden fur.

It could be just her coloration but it could also be urine staining.

Next time you see her use the litter box check to see if she is wet underneath.
