How do wire the honeywell RTH230 with the four wire I have Red, Orange, White, and Green? I figured out where the white and green go but does the red go to Rc or Rh and then where do I stick the Orange one?

You should have a yellow one... is this for ac or heat or heatpump?

If it is ac only than you should have red, yellow, and green wires... sounds to me ike whoever wired the old t stat did not use the right wires or colors. Best thing would be to change wiring at tstat, air handler and condenser so there is no confusion later down the road.
Without knowing what actually goes where it would be hard for any of us to answer.
Does this t stat also do some kind of heat?

Nope knocked a slightly bigger hole in the wall... no yellow.

White should go to w... red will go to rc than run a jumper to rh.. green will go to g.. And hopefully orange should go to y.
Being you have no yellow that would be the only other logical way to wire it. But I hope the original installer actually wired the colors to the right spots at the furnace and condenser.

Cool THANKS! I'm not going to blow anything up when I connect that orange wire if whoever wired it was smoking something am I?

Hard to say... you could ruin the transformer or might even blow a fuse on the unit. But you shouldn't blow it up.

Go to the furnace where the tstat wires are connected,, trace the wires to whatever they are connected to write down what color go to what,, on the circuit board, then go to the new tstat and match up the wires to the furnace
There's no real need to change the wires because of the colors
Let us know,, also you should kill the breaker to the furnace while you are messing with the tstat wiring, this so you won`t smoke the transformer or a fuse
