My dryer will not dry clothes

There can be many reasons. Is this a gas dryer or an electric dryer? If it's gas, the gas may not be coming on. If it's electric, the heating element may be burned out. Also, the vent can be plugged with lint. This is a very common cause of dryer failure.

Maytag dryer - model number HYE3460AYW. I believe it is the heat element. Is it hard to replace myself? Can I get the part easy?

Why do you believe the element? Could be the high temp sensor has tripped-lot cheaper!
