Does masturbating burn calories? :)

Hi, natalie1xxx!

If you're expending energy doing it, yes it does. Although, probably not very many calories.

Why do you want to know, please?

Thanks!

Medically, masturbation burns calories but what about the emotional stress. You do yourself no good by masturbating. Why not get married to a partner and enjoy God-approved sex?

Well, any physical exertion is going to burn some amount of calories.

Using the full body in various ways will no doubt get better results in burning up the calories.

Thanks!

Every single thing you do burns calories.
Laying down burns approx 90 calories per hour.
Sitting doing nothing burns approx 84 calories per hour
Walking burns approx 198 calories per hour
Scrubbing Floors 440 per hour

Sometimes I think scrubbing floors is a better choice than getting married.

God approved sex?

This isn't the religious forum, so please keep your beliefs to yourself.

Masturbating is a perfectly acceptable (to most people) means of pleasuring yourself and learning about your body. It's also a great alternative to actually having sex and risking pregnancy and disease.

As for the OP's question. Yes, you do burn calories, but not enough to consider it as a workout routine. ;)

Or getting married to a man that will scrub your floors.

Just saying. ;)

Or marry a rich man and hire someone to scrub your floors for you.

I like the sounds of that...

As for Natalie, I agree with N0help4u- everything you do burns calories. However you could make masturbating into a workout by purchasing a dildo that sticks to the floor and "points" up ↑ . The you'd have to well... you know the rest.

Self sex is the safest sex.

Not good!

You edited your post bad girl.

Just to make it clear, I was agreeing to the part in bold. The rest was added after I agreed and now my agree sounds really bad.

I'm going back to my corner. :p

NO emotional stress, and it's safe sex, and you do yourself good by relieving sexual tension. I wouldn't use it as a workout program though.

??

What has GOD (if there is one) have to do with it?

Sorry but move the religious stuff elsewhere

And yes it may burn about 20 calories, if you want to lose weight you'd be doing it 24/7 literally to have any effect.

Had a great site bookmarked once that once listed average cal burned per activity... and I mean it had a TON of activities... one of which was sex.

Calories burned during sex was sadly low... or at least it wasn't enough to talk ones self from going to the gym for some real cardio and weight work.

So... to address the OP... yes. Picking your nose burns calories. Doesn't mean it's a decent workout for vascular health and lung capacity.

Then again... if I had "self helped" that one time when my lover turned me down I wouldn't have gone into the bath and broke the sink by lifting on it in a moment of primal frustration.

Oops happens.

Sh!t breaks.

Super glue rocks the casbah.

Uhm... whatthehellthreadisthis?

Ah yeah... alty and sarah are here.

I like watching them.

Oops, wrong thread.

If it did burn loads of calories I'd be a stick-figure (I am thin though) ;)

Ripping off the sink and then fixing it undoubtedly burned more calories then masturbating would have. :)

I'm willing to volunteer so we can find out just how many calories are actually burned for each individual sex act.

I will give my body for science.

That's just the kind of person I am. Unselfish, always thinking of others. ;)

well... we are all entitled to our opinions... and those who believe masturbation is a sin aren't more "wrong" or "right"... tho' some would disagree.

so...

lets live and let live...

tough to do... I'm irish serb... instinct is to hit first and buy drinks later... but its time to get over this posters opinion... AMHD is great because of the diversity of opinions... especially when they agree with me. ;)
