Hello... here is a two-part question:

1] If a ball, for example a ball the size and weight of a typical baseball, is dropped from a distance of exactly 4 feet from the ground, how fast would it travel till hitting the ground?

2] If an electronic oscillator was started at the exact time that the ball was dropped and stopped at the exact time the ball hit the ground what would be the frequency of the oscillator in seconds, milliseconds or microseconds for that exact time?

Thank you, JMastro

1) Use the formula

v^2 = u^2 + 2as

where v is the final speed, u the initial speed, a the acceleration due to gravity and s the distance.

2) Use

f=\frac1T

where f is the frequency, and T the periodic time of the electronic oscillator.
