My computer restarts whenever I open any video files. I have download some videos from the internet and wheneve I try to open them my system reboots. Windows shows the following error:

C:\DOCUME~1\SIMERJ~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER71cc.dir00\M ini101206-01.dmp
C:\DOCUME~1\SIMERJ~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER71cc.dir00\s ysdata.xml

I have tried reinstalling windows xp, I have also tried to update drivers but no use :( . Some says that it is a memory dump problem. I don't know how to fix it. Please somebody guide me. I shall very grateful.

System specs: pentium 4, CPU 2.40 GHz, 512MB RAM, winxp professional sp2

Check your hard drive for bad sectors, you can try and get a bad sector fixer or your will have to get a new hard drive
