I have never had it examined and I have never taken it to anyone.its about the size of a nickel in circular size but its not like a lump like how you would call a horn under the skin as its rounded top gets wider and flattens onto the side of my skull.. its been there since I can remember and I cannot remember a time I did not have it but I also am worried it could be something bigger but as I said it still and never has caused any form of problems no pain no irritations... besides sunglasses.. and I have no other protrusions on my body however I would like to know what this is or could be and if you have any ideas please tell me:)

Some of us have anomalies like a little extra bone somewhere. This could have happened behind your ear. I just felt behind my ears and it feels bony, maybe a little more on one side.
If there is no pain, no problem, no irritation don't make something out of nothing; if it worries you that much have it checked out by your doctor or go to a walk in clinic.

I have had the same boney lump behind my ear since I can remember, I am 37 now and have had no problems at all from it, I rarely get head aces, it has never been sore to touch, my conclusion is that it is some sort of bone deformatey, but don't quote that I am no doctor. Hope this give you a little peace of mined.

I have a horn like bump behind both of my ears, there in Identical spots. I was born with them, I also passed them down to my son, I've been to 4 different doctors and they can't tell me what they are and there not worried although one doctor asked if I can hear bassy noise's from a mile away, not sure why he asked but If someone walks down my street I can hear there footsteps, even if I'm in the shower or have music going etc... Moral of the story... if its not causing a problem, don't stess :)

Hi I've had a bone lump behind my ear on my left side for 23 years I first noticed it when I was 10 we went to so many doctors and no one knew what it was. Finally one of them knew what it was and he said his wife had the same thing it was very small back then now its very big and all my hair has falled out in that spot. Its hard to sleep its more like a horn. I can't wear sunglasses its inconfortable. My parents keep saying I will be fine and its not a cancerous bone growth but I've been getting very bad headaches latley and I'm a bit worried also there's another one growing on my head above my hairline... I have no insurance and am a single mother... anyone no anything about this or what I can do. Thanks
